Associate Technical Writer
Location: Oak Brook, IL.
The Associate Technical Writer develops and maintains Product Documentation for the Live Service Apropos software product suite. This individual utilizes multiple input sources to gain insight into the customer needs and develops concise and professional documentation. Candidates must be able to articulate thoughts and ideas in a clear and organized manner.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of the Apropos product.
- Work with developers to gather input for all assigned documents
- Update and maintain, with guidance, customer technical documentation in a professional and effective manner, focusing on style and standards as well as content
- Follow established Technical Publications processes and procedures for Product Documentation
- Know and follow the defined development and writing standards
- Demonstrate effective time management skills, meeting scheduled deadlines
- Demonstrate a full working knowledge and understanding of the tools used within Technical Publications - Word, Visio, Excel, PaintShop Pro, PhotoShop, Acrobat, RoboHelp, TeamTrack
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 1 to 2 years’ related experience
- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- Word experience required
- RoboHelp experience preferred
